Hire Rental Agreement
1. Basic Rental Statement
As the renter, you are solely responsible for the suit during the duration of your hire. This means that any damage, loss, or theft that occurs while the suit is in your possession will be your responsibility to address.
It is important to handle the suit with care to maintain its quality and appearance. Avoid any activities that may cause excessive wear or damage to the garment, such as rough physical activities or contact with sharp objects.
Kingsman are the sole owners of each and every garment that is hired. You are simply renting the garment for a set period of time and must be returned on time.
The hirer understands that this rental agreement is legally binding and that anything to breach the terms of this agreement will result in proportional action.
2. Liability
As a customer, you are responsible for the rented suit during the rental period. We understand that accidents can happen, and minor wear and tear are expected. However, if the suit is damaged beyond normal use, loss or late return, you will be expected to pay the fee (see 5.).
Our liability policy ensures that all our customers receive high-quality and well-maintained suits for their special occasions. We conduct thorough inspections before and after each rental to ensure that the suits are in excellent condition.
If you notice any damage on receiving your garment, please let us know as soon as possible, as to avoid unnecessary confusion when inspecting garments on return.
3. Shipping
For customers within New Zealand, our going rate is $10.00 for shipping. Your package will be delivered to your doorstep within 2-3 business days. We have partnered with NZ Post and PBT to ensure reliable and efficient delivery services.
If you require expedited shipping, we also offer express delivery options for an additional fee. Simply select the express shipping option during checkout, and your order will be prioritized for faster delivery.
Please note that for weekend or Monday events, you must submit your order before 2pm on Wednesday. Orders placed later than this time is at the renters own risk and no refund will be given.
4. Returns
To initiate a return, simply pack the suit into the courier bag provided and drop it off at your local NZ Post. We recommend obtaining a tracking number for your return shipment to ensure its safe arrival back to our warehouse. We will also track it from our end once your 7 day hire has elapsed.
Once we receive your returned item, our team will inspect it to ensure it meets our return policy criteria.
Please note that any shipping fees paid at the time of purchase are non-refundable. Additionally, we do not cover the cost of return shipping unless the item received is defective or damaged.
If you lose the returned shipping bag, please let us know asap, as we may be able to forward the shipping ticket to your email. Kingsman is not liable for any lost return shipping bags. If the bag is lost, you must purchase your own courier.
5. Fees and late returns
First and foremost, communication is the key. If you know your return is going to be late or if there is anything that needs to be communicated, please do it. This will avoid unnecessary fines and situations.
If you happen to return your suit after the agreed-upon return date, a late fee will accumulate $10 per day that the suit is late, until the suit has been returned.(If this affects the customer after you, you will also be charged their refund). We believe this fee is fair and reasonable, as it compensates for the inconvenience caused by the delayed return and allows us to maintain the availability of our suits for other customers.
It is important to note that if you fail to return the suit within a full week from the original return date, we will consider the suit as unreturned. In this case, you will be charged the full price of the suit. We kindly ask you to respect the return policy and return the suit promptly to avoid any additional charges.
Escalation of unreturned garments and unpaid invoices will be met with debt collection, legal action and/or law enforcement. Renters are required to cover all debt collection fees associated with (5.) Again, please communicate with us if anything is missing or damaged.

When it comes to returning the suit, we have made the process as convenient as possible for you. Simply pack the suit into the courier bag provided and drop it off at your local NZ post. We have partnered with NZ post to ensure a hassle-free return process for our customers.
6. Alterations
When you place an order with us and provide us with the necessary measurements, we can make the necessary alterations to your suit (product page). We pride ourselves on our attention to detail and precision, ensuring that every adjustment is made with the utmost care.
Our alteration process typically takes around 3 days to complete. During this time, our tailors will carefully adjust the leg length and sleeve length to your specifications. We understand that time is of the essence, and we strive to deliver your perfectly tailored suit as quickly as possible.
If, upon receiving your suit, you find that further alterations are needed, we have a solution for you. You can take your suit to a local tailor, dry cleaner, or equivalent professional to have it adjusted. However, please note that only the pant length and sleeves can be altered. Any other alterations will be considered damage to the suit, and you will be responsible for the full price of the suit.
7. Cancellations
Please note, cancellation days refer to the day that the suit will be shipped from our store here in Christchurch. This day will usually be 3-4 days before the day you have selected as your drop off day.
For local store pickups, your cancellation day is the day that you decide to pick the suit up.
Cancellations made two or more weeks prior to you chosen date will be 100% refunded. Cancellations made one week or less prior to the chosen date will be 80% refunded. Cancellations made 24 hours + prior to the chosen date will be 60% refunded. All refunds will be made to your credit card use to make the purchase.
Any items cancelled within 24 hours of your chosen date will not warrant a refund. Please keep this in mind when hiring.
7. Personal Items
As much as we value your trust and satisfaction, we want to clarify that Kingsman Suit Hire is not liable for any personal items left with anything hired. This includes any personal belongings or valuables that may be accidentally left behind in any of our garments.
If you wish to have your personal item returned to you, please note that the cost of return will be the responsibility of the owner. We can provide guidance and assistance in organizing the return, but any associated costs, such as shipping fees, will need to be covered by the owner.
8. Product descriptions & cleaning
When it comes to suit hire, one of the most crucial aspects to consider is the care and maintenance of the garments. We understand the significance of providing our customers with well-looked-after and like-new items for every hire.
Each garment in our collection undergoes a meticulous care routine to guarantee its pristine condition. Once an item is returned, it is immediately sent for dry cleaning. This process not only removes any dirt or stains but also helps to maintain the fabric's quality and appearance.
As some of our suits have been worn in you may find the odd loose thread or mark. These can be easily removed.
Please do not wash or dry clean any of your garments before they are returned. This is all included in the price and done by our staff.
9. Delays with courier
We can only control how fast we get an items shipped from our store. We do not have any control on any courier delays within NZ. If there is a delay in shipping, please contact the shipping provider and open a dispute. Please also let us know and we will work together in fixing any issues arising due to this this.
All items will be non-signature shipping. This means that the parcel will be left at your chosen address without the required signature for handover. If an items tracking says delivered but you do not have the parcel, please urgently call PBT and Kingsman Suits. From the time the suit is delivered to when the suit is returned, is the hirers responsibility.
Should a parcel go missing with the delivered tracking statement, Kingsman will request an investigation through PBT. This will likely result in the assessment of tracking and delivery driver statement. Decisions and refunds may or may not be given until this investigation has concluded.
Orders arriving late will be assessed case by case by our staff.
Refunds will not be offered on items that arrive late after our 2pm cut off time for weekend and Monday events (see 3.).
Refunds will not be offered on rural address that did not state they were a rural address. You must select the rural address shipping if you are rural, so that enough time is given for your suit to arrive.
Refunds will not be given on any parcel redirected. This will almost always delay the arrival of an item.
Refunds will be given to a customer if their garment has arrived late due to late returns from the prior hire. We will always let the hirer know if this will be the case and offer refunds at the given time.
Refunds may be given to orders that are received late due to courier services (as per the tracking details provided). If this is you, please send the garment back to us within 24hrs and in a unworn condition. Failure of either of these conditions will void you of your refund.
Shipping costs are non refundable in all cases.
10. Limitation of liability
Our rental agreement terms & conditions serve as a legally binding agreement between Kingsman Suit Hire and our valued customers. They outline the rights and responsibilities of both parties, ensuring a fair and secure transaction process.
